Nuage is a sculptural chair that explores how a solid object can convey a feeling of softness and weightlessness. Inspired by the lightness of clouds, its curves move naturally from the seat into the backrest, creating the impression of an uninterrupted form.

The piece begins with an internal wooden structure, sculpted and shaped by hand by the artist. Layers of micro-cement are then applied to the surface, giving the piece its smooth and mineral texture, allowing the curves to flow naturally into one another. The ergonomic design considers both positive and negative space. Its rounded volumes and continuous lines give the impression of a cloud gently resting on the ground.

The material gives Nuage its solidity while allowing subtle variations in texture to remain visible. As light moves across the chair, its curved surfaces reveal changing tones and shadows, emphasizing the softness of its geometry.
