WHAT IS MICROCEMENT?

At ITS A MOOD studio, we handcraft sculptural furniture using MicroCement, a material we fell in love with for its seamless beauty and durability.

MicroCement is a thin, durable coating made from cement. It is composed of Cement, selected aggregates, water-based acrylic resins and mineral pigments. It is applied in layers over a surface to create a seamless, joint-free finish. We use Micro Cement to achieve continuous surfaces that highlight our shapes while ensuring your collectible pieces are practical and durable for everyday living.

Every surface is hand-troweled, layer by layer, building the texture. After sanding, we seal the surface with water-based sealer. This step is essential to protect your piece from stains, liquids, and daily use while maintaining its natural matte or soft satin finish.

We use mineral pigments to create our color palette, focusing on earthy tones and warm neutrals. Since each layer is applied by hand, slight variations and textures are normal and part of the material's character.
