A Journal of Process:

In the studio, everything slows down.

Ideas don't usually appear fully formed. They start as small observations.

Curves in nature, shadows on textured walls, the way materials behave under light or even a certain mood I am in. I collect these fragments of ideas in my mind, and let them sit until a pattern starts to form. My work begins in the in-between: a sketch, a sculpture , a digital render.

Sketching is my first dialogue with the piece. It's raw, loose, filled with questions. What does this form want to be? Where does it resist? Each line is a small negotiation. I try to let my hand move freely, to catch the feeling of the form before I know exactly what it is.

Once I have a direction, I move into the digital phase. Building a more accurate structure, adjusting scale and balance without overdesigning. I want the real material to have a say in the final outcome.

But, the real conversation begins in the studio. Where hands meet material. When I start working with Wood and Micro Cement, I discover things I couldn't see in a sketch or on a screen. The rhythm of this process is almost meditative. Measuring, Cutting, Applying layers, Sanding, Waiting. I don't rush. It's a slow process but that's when pieces come to life.

As I sand between layers, the piece begins to speak back. I see where curves need softening or where a surface catches the light in an unexpected way. These decisions don't happen all at once, they build slowly through time spent with the object. It's not just about the final look., it's about the feeling it creates, both for me and the person who will eventually live with it.

In the end, each piece carries a mix of things. Intentional decisions, practical constraints and a lot of adjustments along the way. That's what I'm sharing here. The parts of the process that usually stay unseen, but carry the essence of the form.
